I heard from my lawyers today that we have several grounds for appeal. I will be appealing for personal reasons, not the least of which, is to show Sony that their bullying and dishonest tactics won’t work. In a broader industry sense, as it stands, this decision gives publishers the discretion to take no action in the case of an infringement … even if they are the infringing party. It also allows a publisher the right to buy a catalogue and make money out of the songs without taking on the responsibilities associated with that song. Once protection is removed from a publishing agreement it becomes a pointless exercise. To all the people who have offered financial support with funding the appeal … I offer a deep and sincere thank you. We will be back to you very soon, once we have checked all the legal requirements of the fund. This will be a long hard fight but Marian and I have come to far to let these people get away with this crap
