I heard this song as i packed some things at home..just two days after Lilly was diagnosed. Almost word for word, i could have written it. This song stayed in my head all ten months that Lilly fought..and became very personal for me. No parent should have to plea with doctors, the universe, or God...to keep their baby just one more year, one more week, one more day. I thought i knew pain and sadness before, i was wrong. Nothing...NOTHING..pares to losing a loved one before their time...especially your child. The only thing that gets me through this is knowing that Lilly is in the most beautiful place ever, a reward she so bravely earned, and that one day...we will wrap our arms around her once more. Day after day im watching more families become all too familiar with the word "cancer". Im watching children suffer through chemo, surgeries, and too often, im watching their families grieve as our Father carries these little warriors home. Why? I dont know. I may never know. Maybe i dont want to know. Maybe we will never see a cure. Maybe we will. All i know is this...your support can move mountains. It may not find a cure today or tomorrow...but it could help to ease the trauma or pain of a child currently battling. Your support could help a family in need...just as you helped my family. Your support could open the eyes of those around you who may also have a heart for making a difference. Please dont turn your head because you may not be able to donate,theres so many other ways to help. There are so many charities, organizations,hospitals, that need volunteers, that need voices. Calebs Crusade is one that helped us tremendously and could always use more team members. Angel Snugs is a group of volunteers who make scarves and hats for children to help keep them warm during chemo. @Peaches neet feat is an awesome charity that designs the coolest shoes ever for little warriors amongst other amazing things they do. You can contact any of these groups and many many more even in your local community and ask..."what can i do?" Going gold in September is great...but it isnt enough...make your heart one of gold all year long by reaching out today!!
