I hope all of my friends had a very special Merry Christmas or Happy Hanukkah this year! I feel so blessed and grateful for every single one of you in my life! Other than not spending the day with my kids (we will be celebrating together soon on another day), I had a wonderful day spent with my sister Diana Hause Mesure and her husband Ron, my niece Ashley Hause and her fiancé Shane over brunch and then going to see the movie Unbroken with Diana and Ron and a few of their friends. While watching this movie, the thought occurred to me that watching this man endure such enormous hardships didnt feel very Merry....but then my next thought was that the inspiration of his enduring these enormous hardships was a perfect way to celebrate the day. ESPECIALLY because he eventually overcame his PTSD and was able to forgive all the people that starved, overworked (thats putting it mildly) and tortured him for, I believe, 2 1/2 years (not positive about the exact amount of time) while facing the possibility of execution every single day! It was a very powerful message...and the perfect way to celebrate the teachings of love and forgiveness by Jesus Christ. Sorry for the long post but felt compelled to share my feelings of a day filled with love, family, inspiration and forgiveness. I believe that we can all learn much from this very courageous man
