I hope everyone had a great Labor Day. While not officially, - TopicsExpress

I hope everyone had a great Labor Day. While not officially, it’s hard to believe summer is already over. However, I always enjoy this time of the year with college football and the NFL starting up as well as the MLB playoffs right around the corner (can you tell I like sports). My Royals are still hanging in there, but they can’t lose many more. We made it through August with a few scrapes and cuts from the stock market, but we were due for a bit of a pullback with the double digit gains we’ve seen this year in the S&P 500. September has historically been a difficult month (just turn it to one of the business channels and they’ll be happy to overhype it for you), but as we all know, past results aren’t always indicative of future performance. This month in our newsletter, we start off by taking a look at estate planning. This is one of the most overlooked aspects for many individuals when it comes to long term planning (unless of course we’ve gone through the financial planning process with you). For a lot of us, life just gets in the way so things tend to get pushed further and further behind. My challenge to you this month is to call me (if you need a referral) or your own estate planning attorney to set up a time to update/review your current plan or start the process of putting one in place. Next up we take a look at life insurance. You may or may not need life insurance, so it’s always important to review/update your situation on an annual basis. Life insurance is a crucial part to managing risk for you and your family. It’s essential to have the right policy in place. We hear a lot about student loan debt in the news today and there’s rarely a week that goes by in which I don’t run across a someone who can’t seem to get rid of it. In the following piece we take a look at how student loan debt affects the economy as a whole, along with some tools to help alleviate the burden. Feel free to call me for creative solutions as well. Next up, we share a couple articles on returns. So, what rate of return should you expect from stocks? An age old question with a not so easy answer. It really comes down to what asset class we’re looking at i.e. small company stocks, large company stocks, international, etc.. Finally, what return are you really earning on your money?” Another age old question with a not so black and white answer. If you’re not sure of the answer for your own investments, feel free to reach out and I’d be happy to run the numbers. If you have any questions or would like to set up a time to get together, please feel free to contact me any time. Enjoy the month of September and we’ll see you back in October if we don’t talk before then. Cheers! Please feel free to pass along to friends, family and co-workers! https://forefieldkt/kt/HtmlNL.aspx?type=nl&id=323150&pn=0&iplf=ca&vers=em&mId=232005
