I hope that everyone on my friends list will have a great 2015. Last Sunday, the pastor of our church mentioned in his sermon the story of Tony Melendez, a man who was born without arms who plays the guitar professionally with his feet and toes. I had heard of people who had accomplished such a fit before; however, I had never seen anyone actually do it. So I decided to do a little research about Tony. And I hope that everyone whos struggling to become the-better-version of themselves will receive the same encouragement I got from watching him play. As most of you know, Ive been playing the guitar for a very long time, and its been one of my dreams to play well before my current lifetime comes to an end. Im progressing steadily towards that goal. For a long time, I did not fully understand why my heart kept on telling me to continue to play even though I seemed to have very little natural talent in that regard. Over time and with persistent practice, I got better and better. But watching Tony play makes me finally understand that I kept on playing simply for the joy of playing and for completely eradicating from my mind any doubt about the fact that anything the mind can conceive it can in fact achieve . . . if passion is accompanied by will, discipline, and perseverance, nothing is impossible. So, any time you feel discouraged on your journey to become the better-version-of-yourself, I suggest that you watch Tony play.
