I hope that this is not an attempt to manipulate or coerce me to step into an area which is outside of my field of expertise. My son and i already have too many debates about the issues that are important to you. He has a degree in physics, believes in evolution and speaks to me, in what sounds like a foreign language, about all sorts of throries which only have the effect of convincing me that physics is the art of creating clever answers and then finding questions to which u can apply them. I find it extremely difficult to believe that i, and every one of you intelligent, beautiful and intricately designed, almost to perfection, friends of mine are the result of accidents, coincidences and the like. U did not start as an electrical impulse in a stagnant pool of muck galvanizing life into some hitherto, inert bit of inanimate slime. U did not develop into an amoeba and respond to the demands of your environment by becoming what u are now. Even if u did, why did other creatures develop the way they did? Did yr amoeba ancestors have a hand in stimulating other amoeba so that they became the food chain that nourishes us? No? Then why did they become something what they did? Or did someone create them because, having created us, our support systems had to be installed. Believing that all of this happened accidently is unbelievably unscientific and totally lacking in logic. Answer this. If we really have the ability to evolve into whatever is necessary to exist in our particular environment, why is it that we seem to have stopped short of developing our own insulation against extrene temperatures? Has evolution deserted us without equipping us with the means to survive wherever we choose to live? But why? Logically, evolution is so ridiculous an answer to the sophistication of human, reptile, fish & wild animal physiology that u are left with only one conclusion. Creationism. By whom? Gods? Aliens from a galaxy, far, far away? Super intelligent beings, themselves inhabitants of earth, becoming unable to procreate and oerpetuate themselves and, consequently, creating us to inherit the earth and their legacy? (I like that. Sounds like a reasonable premise for a comic book series.) I dont know but i do wonder why ppl everywhere, in every isolated corner of planet earth have always believed in the existence of a higher being. An atavistic memory or mass hypnosis? Jim Jones didnt make it that far, did he? There has to be a higher power. Why does man commit so many attrocities in his name. Because we are men. Is god evil? No, but men are. Why doesnt god intervene, if he exists? Dont know. Maybe he doesnt want to. Maybe his omnipotence doesnt include micromanagement. Maybe he figures were grown and we have to learn the hard way, on our own. Maybe there is a time of retribution coming for all our evil deeds. I dont know. Do u?
