I hope to one day write a movie that captures the awkwardness of real life. Missed connections and near-misses. Things almost, almost happening but not quite. In which she and him dont magically happen to know where to find each other without so much as a text. Small talk and awkward silences on the phone that they both try to fill at the same time so they end up interrupting each other. If she waits for the last minute to bid him farewell at the airport, she gets stuck in traffic and doesnt make it in time. If he gets an epiphany after boarding and decides to get off the plane, the doors are closed and he has to fly. Proposing with an engagement ring that doesnt fit. And if he speaks now at her wedding, hell be taken out and shell still marry the other guy, not run away with him (I mean, seriously, who does that?). Stutters. Stumbles. Mispronunciations. Giggles. Rawness. An ending not happy but not melodramatically sad either. Just, life in motion.
