I hope to vote APC in the Presidential election. There’s not much to show for all the years PDP has ruled Nigeria. We’ll talk about this as we journey towards the elections. PDP failure naturally means I seek an alternative., especially knowing that PDP will field the incumbent President whom I can neither campaign nor vote for anymore, However, APC must field credible presidential candidates, men with track records of performance. The Buhari/Tinubu ticket is dead on arrival. It’s an inordinate ambition gone too far. It will never work. APC is not SDP and 2014 is not 1983. There’s no generous Abiola here. Secondly, the true mark of a leader is his ability to groom and mentor successors. Buhari and Tinubu need to show love for Nigeria, rather than insist on presenting themselves. I propose a joint ticket of any two of the following: Gen Muhammed Buhari, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Adams Oshiomole, Babatunde Raji Fashola, Rotimi Amaechi. A joint ticket of any of these will send Oga Jona back to Otuoke by first flight. The likes of Fashola should not fizzle out because of politics of godfatherism or have enough financial clout to aspire for the presidency. Tinubu can snatch the wife’s senatorial ticket, (after all it’s a family affair) and then eye the Senate Presidency. I fear for APC that its greatest undoing will be some people’s unbearable attitude to railroad themselves into positions that will ruin the party’s chances at the polls.
