I intentionally try to be an open book -as much as I can. Im still a work in a progress. I realize everyone is at different places when it comes to being honest with themselves and with others. (Im learning balance between letting the world know everything and letting a few key people know everything) I often hear people repackage the Apostle John We are only as sick as are secrets. In others words, as John says, Confess your sins one to another that you may be healed. There is power in confession because we are carrying each others burdens. Confession is not about focusing on the sin but rather on our confession of who is Jesus. Our confession is to be focused on our righteousness because he is the Righteous One. Remember God didnt need you to air your dirty laundry to forgive you. He already knew before you had the dirty laundry. God knew your dirty laundry before he sent Jesus. The work of Jesus is proof that he loved and forgave you before you existed to even have the dirty laundry now in your possession. Confession doesnt get you forgiven it just airs out the stench of all the dirty things you have let linger. You get healthy when the toxic gas gets aired out and you can finally breathe.
