I just attended a memorial service for a friend. He was a great guy, great athlete, great husband and father. Funny, clever, extremely smart. Irreverent. And he owned a rare quality in this sometimes Fd up biz; my man was universally loved. Not liked. Loved. I wasnt super close with him either. We were kindred spirits, but had a couple great years which I cherish. Heard some beautiful stories, tributes, memories, experiences loved ones shared with him. What I took from tonight: push past all the smack. Its the people that matter. Screw the small differences of opinions, whether theyre philosophical, religious or political, whatever, perceived slights; who care? None of that shit matters. Stay friends, through all the bullshit. Life is too short.
