I just bagged Amsterdam Island which is a spit kit of a rock right smack dab between the tips of Africa and Australia. We both had pretty good signals and when you consider that its about 12,000 miles away from my place its not a bad feat. It was a very brief contact as he had a boatload of people trying to get him in their logs, but it is another log in the pile, and a hard one to get. I read that this DXpedition to put the island on the air cost a fortune in travel alone. I also got a guy in Wallis and Futuna Islands near Fiji with a good signal. Its a French possession and I think the guy was there on a job or something and had some free time so he went on the air. Both contacts took a lot of doing as I had to fight my way through pile-ups. Everyone wanted these two cherries.
