What to say about the conference today....Minister Simon Coveney gave us a glimmer of hope. His aspirations are admirable. However implementing them is a whole different matter. I truly believe that he wants to make things right and if he was free to do so, he would fund everything. But as we all know too well, Government Departments are not run by whatever Minister is in charge on the day, they are run by those who have been there for years behind the scenes. I do hope Minister Coveney gets to implement some of his changes before the next guy gets the job. I also hope he takes on board my suggestion that he looks more closely at the welfare groups that he gives funding to. He could save his Dept a fortune. Special mention to Sharon Ni Bheolain. She played a blinder. Bet the Minister wont invite her back in a hurry :)
