I just enjoyed dinner at The Peddler in Spartanburg SC. I ate here 3 years ago and the quality was abysmal. The sublime salad bar they were noted for was so bad I wouldnt eat. The streak ordered did not match the menu. Tonight however....all has been corrected. The food quality has returned to the glory days of the mid 1980s - mid 1990s. It is now owned by the same family in fact. I was happy to see a familiar face after 23 years. My order consisted of a 17 ounce rare ribeye..shrimp cocktail...peddler fries...and of course salad bar. The beef was exceptionally tender and flavored with the perfect hint of smoke. All meats are prepared over real wood coals. The Peddler fries were crispy exterior with a perfectly soft interior. The salad bar was good. If you are looking for a nice romantic dinner for two...look no further than the Peddler of Spartanburg.
