I just finished World War Z. I was really impressed with it! Its intense, its smart, and its actually quite imaginative. It didnt rely too heavily on CG, and the make-up was convincing and terrifying. The plot was really compelling, and there was a lot of chemistry between the actors. I think that if anything took me out of the film, it was that when they did use CGI, it had the tendency to feel a little to rubbery and rushed. Some of the zombie movements were a little extravagant, and there was one scene in particular that involved a really high wall, and a lot of problem-solving zombies. It was a little too convenient for my tastes; leaving me to question the likely hood of such a thing happening (in the event of a zombie apocalypse mind you, so take my critical reservation with a grain of salt)! I think that what really left me feeling satisfied was the fact that this is a zombie movie that chose not to rely on the gore-factor, and in doing so, allowed you to focus on and enjoy other aspects of the story and style. All things considered, I would give it an 8.5/10.
