I just got 2 hermit crabs from the beach 6 days ago. They are in a 20 gallon long with 4 of sand and Eco earth mix, moist enough to burrow. I know this is not quiet enough substrate but I am waiting till my new cage arrives because I dont want to stress them by undoing the whole cage to add more. They have both fresh water and saltwater pools and I have offered them commercial hermit crab food, raw honey, fruits an veggies and they dont seem to eat anything. they have lots to climb on and 3 hide spots. Temp is 85 degrees F and humidity is 70%. Any suggestions or am I just expecting too much after their first week? 1 did burrow for a day but moved after a day to the other side of the tank.
