Good Evening Everyone, Here is the update that you have been waiting for; the City of Calgary has granted conditional permission to occupy your home. The reports that we have been patiently awaiting have arrived and as a result the City has relaxed the occupancy regulations to allow you to return while the repairs are taking place. This occupancy is conditional, once all of the repairs are complete and inspected unconditional occupancy will be given. Attached to this email is a letter from The City of Calgary detailing the occupancy, your Town Hall Meeting notice and a letter detailing some of the conditions of the building that you will encounter upon re-entering. A summary is as follows: Power and water is not fully restored at this time. The General Contractor is currently working diligently to get it restored but at this time it is not completed yet and we do not have a timeline as to when it will be. There is no hot water at this time we are recommending that you drink bottled water until we have the final test results on the water supply. The gas is not restored yet. There is no timeline available for the restoration of the gas. The parking lot and the parkades are closed to residents at this time. Access to the surface parking lot is only available with foot traffic. There is no access to the parkades at all. This also includes door access through the buildings; the parkades are still being cleaned. Street Parking is the only parking available. The City of Calgary has relaxed the 4 hour time limit for Wedgewoods residents. The cleaning out of the storage lockers will continue on Saturday July 13th as planned. You will need to sign in at the security station and a Firstonsite representative will escort you to your locker and assist with cleaning it out. When returning to the site please check in with Security and provide a phone number to them that you can be reached at in case of an emergency. I am sure that while you are ecstatic to be able to go home, you have a million questions! The Town Hall Meeting is scheduled for Monday Evening as originally planned and your questions will be answered at that time. I know that this is great news and I am very happy to be able to send it to you. Please keep in mind that the site is still under construction, proceed in and around the site with caution. The areas that have been taped off were taped off because they are inaccessible so please respect these areas and give the General Contractor the room that he requires to be able to proceed with the cleaning and repairs.
