Police are trying to trace a man who was assaulted before being pulled from the road by his attacker. At about 3.30am on Thursday 5 December 2013, the victim was walking along Oxford Road when the offender began chasing him. When he caught up to him he assaulted the man. The assault caused the victim to fall into the road and the offender then pulled him up out of the bus lane and onto the pavement. The incident was captured on CCTV but police have not been able to trace the victim. Detective Constable Donna Gilman, said: The CCTV is clear: someone is chased down Oxford Road and assaulted before being dragged from the bus lane by their attacker. At this time we have no idea how seriously injured he was but the assault was forceful enough to knock him to the ground. We are confident we know who the assailant is but we need to identify the victim before we can progress this investigation further. Despite numerous efforts we have not been able to identify the victim so I would urge him or anyone who knows him to call us. Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161 856 4447.
