I just got a message from my mom in regard to a longtime friend, Bill Carper. the folks from WHS where i graduated high school, as well as many people in Roane County, WV will know Bill and his family. Bill has had 2 strokes, plus suffering from brain cancer....when ANYONE has these issues, we pray for them and the family. To my musician friends around the globe, i ask you to say a prayer for this gentleman. Bill was one of the absolute first pickers to take a little time with a very shy, naive guitar player trying SO hard to learn...that guitar player was me. A couple times a week after a hard days work at Pennzoil, Bill would sit down with me for a few hours in the evening to play some tunes and help me along...Im sure he was tired and would have preferred spending time with his family...but he still did it and i havent forgotten the help. These are the people that stick with you. Heres to you, my friend.
