I just got home from seeing the cardiothorasic surgeon. It looks like the surgery will be week after next. He wants to do a scope to be sure none of the lymph nodes near the esophagus are involved. He also wants me to do an ENT consult to be sure the thyroid is not involved. I feel a little concern because as old and worn out as I am I have never had major surgery, so I will probably drive him crazy with questions. The surgeon seems to be a very patient and compassionate man, so that helps. I just want it to be over and done. I have a lot I need to do. God is in charge, so I know all will go well.
