I just got this from a very dear friend. I couldnt have stated this anywhere near as well as he did. Here it is. Please let me know what your thoughts are. I just said to a colleague today: My mom is 91... If I am fortunate enough to have her longevity genes, I dont know that I want to be around another 30+ years given the direction that this country is going in. The text in that email pretty clearly outlines the reasons why I dont believe that this country will be worth looking at, let alone living in, in another 30 years. Ive said for sometime now that BHO and his cadre of leftists are doing everything they possibly can to destroy our country and at the core of that is the destruction of the free market, entrepreneurial system that has been the backbone of our nation since its inception. Obamacare is the crown jewel in their plan to crush entrepreneurial spirit that made this nation great... made it resilient and resourceful... made it strong enough to successfully crush two very determined aggressors in two entirely separate theaters of operation during WW-II... made it determined enough and creative enough to all but wipe out numerous types of diseases around the globe, to the mutual benefit of everyone... to become the most generous nation on the face of the earth -- through the personal, financial contributions of its free and giving people; not its government -- every time a disaster strikes some where in the world. You do not get where we are as a nation, via a socialistic, welfare-centric state. You simply cant get there... Its about the Math, dummy! It simply doesnt add up. Unless folks wake up and smell the coffee soon, this nation is headed for a death spiral caused by the ever increasing fiscal burden of the I am entitled portion of our population and the likes of the leftist politicians willing to fulfill the entitlement wishes of that part of our population, simply to ensure that they secure their vote and thereby remain in power. I dont see a conservative (of any flavor - middle-of-the-road or extreme right) that has what it takes to win the White House back...let alone provide the leadership and vision that could lead to enough change in the balance of congressional power to arrest the current trends. I just dont see anyone with the needed level of eloquence, presence and vision. Lets face it: intelligence doesnt win: Romneys no dummy; money alone doesnt win: Romneys hardly poor; personal generosity and humility dont win: Romney has given away and/or given back huge portions of his personal fortune; a proven, executive track record doesnt win: Romney has some real success stories to his credit -- in the REAL world, no less! (Whats really disgusting in the lashing Romney got for not giving back MORE of his fortune and all the while many of the top Dems are some of the stingiest folks on record!) Soapbox retired. Good night my friend... Ive not told my friend that Ive put his comments on FB and hopefully he will not be too pissed off. He has only said what I and so many of my friends feel.
