I just had a freaking heart attack. Emily had grabbed a pen and bit it, I took it away, never thought anything about it. She found it again and Ella was the first to notice she was chewing it. I got it again, this time it was cracked. I fished and got most out but knew some was missing. My only hope was it was on the floor somewhere. About two minutes later she starts choking and turns purple. I grabbed her, bent her over and started pounding on her back..nothing. Shes purple, gasping and staring at me with the most horrible look on her face. Ella got scared, ran to her room screaming. Emily and I both fell on the kitchen floor on my elbow. I jumped up, got her to the living room to sit so she was safe that way. She stopped coughing, I gave her a drink and her color started to come back. You could tell swallowing wasnt comfortable but it was working. I gave her a couple of bites of banana and watched it go down followed by more water. I am so pissed off at Sanfilippo right now!! Food just falls out of her mouth while shes eating but a piece of pen has to get stuck in there and try to kill my baby! I wasnt sure if I needed the ER, would I even MAKE the ER or would she die in my car on the way. I never knew so many thoughts could happen so quickly. She seems fine now...breathing normally and color is good. CPR training does nothing when your mind is in a panic, nothing at all!
