I just had a great conversation with Clint this evening. He answered the phone when I called to speak with Mark. This cheery voice on the other end says, Hiiii Lenny. How are you today? Each time I hear him speak, it makes me pause and give thanks. His sentences are not quite joined together but he can carry a conversation if you lead him back to the topic. This will get better with time. He was getting ready and was excited to take his first shower in a month. They were awaiting an aide to accompany him. He can now stand by himself briefly. He ends our visit by saying, Thanks for calling, I really appreciate the call. After our chat, Mark picked up the phone. Visitation there is limited. Mark will be home to conduct business on Thursday for a couple days and then right back to Post Falls. Clint can now sit in a wheelchair and buzz up and down the halls. And hes making friends with the staff. Theyve decided to wait to celebrate Clints birthday until they bring him home. Then all his friends can come by to visit. My what a joyous birthday celebration thats going to be. Reminds me of an old song verse, Therell be dancin in the streets, or at least in the 1/4 mile long Heuett driveway.
