I just had a guy from the NYC Blues Society blow off the Healing Blues because he saw this song, by a band that I am proud to call my friends, Marillion, in my Youtube viewing history. He asked what it was, and I told him An attempt to describe what it is like to live in Gaza from the point of view of a child. To which he replied: Oh those poor little occupied gaza children lol, give me a break... I love it when charity organizations try to align themselves with perceived underdogs with no regard to reality. No thanks So: 1. Just because I took part in the Healing Blues, and also am a supporter of Marillion, and listened to Gaza recently, doesnt mean that the Healing Blues supports anything I do, let alone on the basis of a song that MAY represent MY politics. 2. Is that as reactionary and stupid as it seems to me? 3. Yes. 4. I hope he isnt representative of the NYC Blues Society as a whole. 5. So....thats just sad.
