I just had a movie-breakthrough. Okay... in the Wizard Of OZ... we meet Dorothy, and a small group of other people that are involved in her life. Hunk is The Scarecrow, Zeke is the Lion, Ms. Gulch is the Wicked Witch, Professor Marvel! is the Wizard, and so on and so on. The main characters in Oz all have a counterpart in Kansas. Except her mother. We never see Dorothys mom... and its never mentioned. Its my opinion that Glinda (who is, in Dorothys own words; so beautiful and wise) is Dorothys mother. I think that was why Dorothy listened to her... trusted her...etc. Am I crazy to have JUST made this realization??? Did this occur to you guys many years ago? Like, ummm yeah dude... thats her mom. Thats the whole point of the movie, you dumbass! I cant believe Im just now finally understanding a movie that Ive seen over 100x.
