I just had the best door-knocking volunteer stint EVER, with Community First!! We were informing immediate neighbors of the discussion regarding Nine Springs Golf Course and encouraging them to include their voices in this decision, undertaken by the City of Fitchburg, of whether to turn the golf course into a park. We had no agenda of our own on the decision, except to help the immediate neighbors weigh in with their own opinions. Every single person we spoke with was very nice (and generous about my pathetic attempts at Spanish, where relevant). The vast majority were grateful for the information and opportunity to provide input (the few others were understandably too busy), and most were not aware of the upcoming decision & community meeting. Very worthwhile, and a nice community connection!
