I just had the pleasure of meeting former Senator David Pryor and his wife Barbara. it brings back memories of meeting him as a teenager when he was running for the senate. A subject was touched on about how we all rely on each other for our success, especially in a small town like Lonoke. If we support each other we will all prosper and thrive. Remember that shopping local helps not only that shopkeeper, but every other business in the community. Then I got to thinking about how its a shame that big business doesnt think like this. They outsource jobs to other countries so that they can make more of a profit when in fact if they kept those jobs within the borders of the US more people would have jobs and would be able to spend money, stimulating our economy. We have to get back to Made in the USA pride. Just think about what happens to our economy if just one person loses their job. Instead of being a source of tax revenue on every level, they become a tax burden. Not only are they not paying taxes, but they are not spending money to help local business. Its a major trickle down effect, costing the US thousands of dollars in revenue. Multiply that by hundreds when a company decides to move manufacturing over seas. Our policy makers in Washington need to look at how we can keep corporations from moving over seas and keep Americans working. They want to balance the budget, this is the answer. Keep America working! Wow! I kind of went off on a tangent.
