Just a reminder to please keep in mind that more than likely the people working this event were not affiliated with the people behind this scam operation. It is not fair or in good faith to associate those who were also in the dark about the actual event itself. (the band, the dj, the announcer, and possibly the venue itself and employees of the venue who may have been working) It appears that these people are sub-contracted or direct hires of the company who created this event. It is unfair to slander their names, reputation, or to affect future business due to guilt by association. There were many companies advertised which more than likely had their intellectual property stolen (logos, band names, etc) For example- the band Big Time Rush, is on the Columbia Music Label under Sony Music Entertainment. Nick Records (nickelodean) operates as a Vanity label under the Sony umbrella, meaning they handle all the distribution, marketing and releasing. Im assuming this is where the Nickelodean logo was affiliated. However Nick Records and BTR ended their relationship in 2014. Therefor spamming members is probably not the answer. Bands are booked many different ways, through booking agents, third party agencies and more than likely the band itself was unaware of this. Beyond that- the venue was clearly unequipped to handle an act of that magnitude, sound support wise, capacity, etc. Red Bull is global, and addresses brand protection on its website. Read more on that here: redbull/us/en/stories/1331579526131/brand-protection Beyond that, Im not sure why Red Bull would be a sponsor of an event mainly targeted at children. These are all intellectual property issues, (copyright, trademark, branding) and these companies have legal teams that devote their time to only these events. Paypal is a service- and will refer you to the resolution center to initiate direct communication with the seller whose goods or services were misrepresented. If an agreement can not be met the claim must then be escalated then which paypal reviews your case and decides if you are eligible for a refund. Disputes can also be done through credit card companies. These are only a few examples- there are many more. At this point, as a consumer who has been a victim of fraud- contacting the Attorney Generals Office and the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services at 1-800-435-7352 is where to start. Hopefully the media will pick up on this and help. We all had disappointed children, and this was an expensive event and in todays economy- a lot of money for many families. It is awful that parents, families, and friends with only good intentions were forced into explaining why this happened the children involved. It is always important to be informed- Getting the word out properly and into the right hands is the only option right now. That being said, Thank you for creating this page and using social media in one of the ways it was intended. Lets keep hoping for something positive to come out of this.
