I just have to share this, vent, whatever. As most of my friends are aware, I spent the past 5 days in Virginia(near Norfolk Naval Base, just to name one of MANY military bases located there). I met a very nice young man who had just come home from a 9 month deployment aboard the USS Truman. I asked him a variety of questions. One of them was what the food was like aboard ship. To my HORROR he told me that they eat the same food as prisoners. In fact the boxes are labeled For Prisoner and US Military consumption only. How is Gods name can Americans allow this to continue??? There is welfare, obama phones, food stamps, free bus passes to a certain group of people, who do not work, do not contribute to society for any greater good other than to reproduce children to obtain more money and the men and women who fight to maintain our rights and freedoms eat disgusting food. I am sorry for the rant but I am not sorry if anyone is offended by this post. It is the truth and sometimes, the truth hurts. Dont like it, dont read it. Perhaps if we denied welfare and other benefits to able bodied people and made them go into the service, we(this Country) would not be in this situation. There are countrys where it is mandatory to serve. Oh and 1 more thing, can someone PLEASE tell me why gas is $4.00 per gallon??? Those who wanted change, well, you got it.
