I just listened to the album Discipline by King Crimson, an album - TopicsExpress

I just listened to the album Discipline by King Crimson, an album I hadnt heard for 33 years since my college roommate and I wore out a new vinyl copy. And you know what? I still remembered every note. I think theres something special about music like it trains your neurons in a way thats deeper and more permanent than things your perceive with your eyes. I think its your ears way of getting even. 70% of our sensory data comes through our eyes and we tend to take it for granted. Our ears have to savor and hang onto everything. The only sense that beats our sense of hearing is our even more neglected sense of smell. There are odors that, if they cross my nose today, transport me instantly to a specific time and place from anywhere in my life, even early childhood.
