I just returned from a field trip of hiking and Herods stream. The innocence of watching children simply play and enjoy the day is so beautiful. At the same time we were surrounded by about 50-75 Israeli military men meeting in lessons and assessments. The combination of these two sights is so powerful. The military here is ever present to serve and protect, but it is also so ready to also interact and communicate with the people in such a loving way. In the midst of the violence and terror that faces so much of this country at this time, there is a sense of peace. I am grateful.
