I just saw the pictures of Renee Zellweger from last night that everyone is talking about. I dont really care what work shes had done, thats her business, and people do it all the time. But the thing that bums me out is the huge amount of pressure women are under, especially in Hollywood, to always look young, thin, and beautiful. This business has a way of making people feel like they have to change what is different about them in order to stay relevant, when in fact those things are what made people fall in love with that person in the first place. Were not all meant to look alike and plastic surgery is taking away what makes us unique. At the same time, I see how these women are constantly picked apart, and I cant imagine anyone not being affected by that. Men are allowed to age gracefully without anyone judging them for gray hair, saggy skin, or too many wrinkles. Hopefully in time our society can allow women the same courtesy.
