I just sent this email to the ABC: In your news tonight you showed a segment of the suffering of the Palestinian people as they were bombed by Israel in Gaza. You focussed on and emphasised this. How about mentioning that the Israeli raids on Gaza are to stop the barrage of missiles, hundreds of them, deliberately launched from Gaza at civilian targets in Israel? Your news item gave the impression that Israel was deliberately targetting civilian houses in Gaza. The facts, which you know, or ought to know, are that Israel is pinpointing as targets those houses from which these rockets are launched and in which the terrorists who launch them live. It is well known that these terrorists hide behind civilians. I challenge you to tell me: 1: How would you react if the schools and shopping malls where your kids go were continually the target of terrorist rockets so your kids education was continually interrupted, even in the middle of exams, by sirens giving 15 seconds notice to get to a bomb shelter, and 2: How your bias differs in attitude from the atmosphere prevailing in Germany in the 1930s? Seriously, if you stop and think about it. Be aware that I am a child survivor of the holocaust.
