I just signed this petition, and theres also a call to come support Black Friday 14 at the BART hearing about restitution (what a poor choice of words!) charges against protestors. Action Tomorrow in Support of Black Friday 14 Thursday, January 22, 5pm At 344 20th Street, 3rd Floor, Oakland When the killing of a black man is disregarded by a grand jury with no legal consequences, while a demonstration temporarily interfering with the BART schedule on a day devoted to shopping gets you charged with a crime and a possible $70,000 penalty, we can say that black lives matter less than easy Christmas shopping. Please join allies tomorrow as attorneys representing the Black Friday 14, the people arrested for the BART action on Nov. 28, are asking that a substantial community presence be in evidence at the meeting of the BART board to affirm that no charges and no fines should be imposed on these nonviolent demonstrators. The meeting is tomorrow, Thurs., Jan 22 at 5:00 p.m at 344 20th St, 3rd floor, Oakland. The Black Friday 14 are asking people to phone or e-mail the Oakland D.A.s office to ask that charges be dropped.
