I just spent the last 45 minutes talking with my neighbor Ms. Adkins.....she was one of my moms friends here in our neighborhood. Ms. Adkins was devastated when my mom passed away 4 years ago. It broke her heart. A year ago Ms. Adkins was diagnosed with colon cancer. She did the treatments and she beat it. It was a tough battle but she won! Tonight, I left the gym and came home....she was sitting on her porch and as I got out of my car she yelled for me. I walked over and she started to cry. She found out today that her cancer has returned and that it is in her lymph nodes. She looked at me and said, Becky, I am going to die. That broke my heart. I stood there talking to her and telling her to not give up. She did not give up the first time and she wont give up this time. My belief is that my God still is a God of miracles....and I told her that. I told her that she can be sad right now...but tomorrow she will fight. She can go straight in to this battle beaten down....or she can claim the victory and beat this horrible disease! I told her that ...she cant give up.....I told her that I wont believe that it is over until I know that theres nothing that can be done. She is worried about her family when she does pass away....I told her that she needs to focus on getting better. I guess I am telling everyone this because she needs prayers.....she needs to feel the comfort that we know God can give us in these times. If you can whisper a simple prayer for her it would mean so much to me and to her family. God has this.....
