I just started re-reading Lady of the Rivers the other night, - TopicsExpress

I just started re-reading Lady of the Rivers the other night, Philippa Gregorys novel about my ancestor (eeeee!) Jacquetta of Luxembourg, and I realize now Id totally forgotten how Ms. Gregory wrote the character of Jacquettas second husband Richard Woodville....given that we know the two of them married for love, a rarity then, then we could maybe infer a few things from that immediately, but Ms. Gregory wrote Richard Woodville as practically the perfect choice for a husband: intelligent, resourceful, hard-working, courageous, protective, handsome, etc.If Richard Woodville was even 10% of how she depicts him it makes me wish I had someone just like him. And then I feel weird because I realize that this an ancestor of mine I am talking about, a blood relative... :S Oh well, maybe thats not so bad...some people do talk about their fathers or mothers being a model of traits theyd like in their partners....
