I just survived a major car accident. As best I know everyone in the other cars is ok. They went to the hospital to get checked out, I didnt. My car is probably completely totaled. I was heading straight through an intersection on a green light, and a woman with a kid in the car turned left into my lane. I think I swerved to try and avoid her but there wasnt really any room/time. Hitting the front end of her car sent me careening to the right toward a car that was preparing to turn right. I hit the front of their car but managed to swerve so I didnt impact them full on, but that sent me through one large light pole and then another sign pole. This completely destroyed the front end of my car, but somehow I walked away with just a bump on the head. My airbag didnt deploy, so I am guessing I hit my head on the side window. Ill find out more tomorrow about the whole process. Im pretty clear at this point that I was not the driver at fault, and the police seemed in agreement. The statement from the woman turning left was just Suddenly she was there. I dont think I noticed her at all because I probably just assumed she was creeping the intersection to take her left turn. I didnt realize she was taking the turn until she was in front of my car. The police/fire department were kind of shocked that I hit that many large items and walked away, and as far as I know the other folks involved in the accident are all right too. I wish I had more information particularly about the person driving the second car that I spun into, because I actually opted to hit the light pole instead of them, in the tenth of a second I had to make a decision. I probably would have T-boned them if I hadnt.
