I just want to come on here and say THANK YOU to ALL my family and friends!!! Today is my 2 years celebration (yes my thoughts have changed it from a tragic incident to a celebration of life) of my horrible car accident. I am BLESSED to have come through it, thats for sure. I am 100% (well pretty close to it), and as of late September I was fully released from my Surgeon/Dr. and Physical Therapists care. I have learned A LOT through these long and painful months (physically, spiritually, mentally, etc) and wouldnt wish the last 2 years on anyone. Through the trials and tribulations of the therapy and surgeries I have learned more about Gods providence and mercy than I would have without this pain, suffering and intense workouts/therapy. I remember being home for 3 months with no one around, contemplating SO MUCH about my life. Near mental break downs and emotional distress. I can go on and on explaining but Ill save you the time. There are people I tell (about my little story/incident) and they think Im joking or exaggerating, maybe thats how good my recovery has been; no signs of physical affects (to those that didnt witness my bed-ridden-state). I hope and pray that we ALL grow through these circumstances in life. Weve seen SO MUCH within our family, yet our family seems not too far from Judges 2:10 - After that generation died, another generation grew up who did not acknowledge the LORD or remember the mighty things he had done for Israel. Let us remember Gods mercy on .....Place your family or friends name here.... Let us dwell on Gods sovereignty. May we remember His love, wisdom, and goodness in what we see as tragic, horrible, sad situations we face in life. In closing, its been said Bitterness is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die. God doesnt ask us to cheer because we lose our job or learn that a loved one has contracted cancer, or a child has a birth defect or someone you love was in a threatening car accident. He tells us to rejoice because he will produce in us something money cant buy and a life of ease will never produce-the precious quality of Christ exalting perseverance. God gives each of us a race to run. To finish well we must develop perseverance. The Christian life is not a hundred yard dash but a marathon. Those who lack patience, endurance, and discipline will drop out of the race. Weve seen that happen on many occasions. We should rejoice in suffering in the same way that Olympic athletes rejoice in their workouts-not because we find it easy, but because we know it will one day result in great reward. Like Jesus in Hebrews 12:1-3, we can rejoice now because of the eternal joy set before us. If you know Jesus, then the hand holding yours bears the calluses of a carpenter who carried a cross for you. When he opens his hands, you see the gnarled flesh of the nail scars on his wrist. And when you think he doesnt understand your pain, realize that you dont understand the extent of his love. Love him or not, he has proven he loves you. In our most troubled moments, when you cry out to God, why have you let this happen? picture the outstretched hands of Christ, forever scarred... for YOU. Do those look like the hands of a God who does not care? Happy Thanksgiving to all. -Blessings- P.S. Sorry I am not able to tag everyone on this post, FB isnt allowing it, but here are a few before and after pictures... p.s.s. I tagged those have been instrumental for me and my family.
