One of my big bugaboos all along -- and this seems to be true everywhere Ive worked; whether it be for a toy company, an animation company or even people who have hired me to write comic strips for newspapers -- invariably I run into this attitude of having to dumb things down and it drives me absolutely crazy. I just hate to simplify or dumb things down for kids. This is especially true in terms of the use of vocabulary. Kids wouldnt know that word. Fine, but how do you think they learn words? By being exposed to them.
