Islamist =/= Muslim Sorry if I sound pedantic. I am infuriated by how the press is portraying Egypt these past weeks and months, and I just wanted to make this one thing clear. What is happening in Egypt is not Islam vs. Christianity. It is Islamist vs. Secularist. Muslims on both sides, and both desire one thing. Liberty from tyranny. The Copts are merely caught in the crossfire. They are not the target of the Muslim Brotherhood, as far as I can understand. Yes it is truly saddening what is happening, but none of us should be surprised. This has been a long time coming, and whatever is about to happen is not liable to be stopped by anyone, and unfortunately, many will suffer regardless of their religious persuasion. No person enjoys feeling like a chess piece, and Egypt is an entire nation that has been played with since 1919, when the Arab nation liberated itself from the Turks only to be quashed by their supposed allies, the UK and France. They (and most other Arab nations) have not tasted liberty as a people since that time. Can any of us imagine what that must feel like?
