I just want to make everyone aware of something, please do not go to Chilliwack Hospital. Only go if you have too, I went and they did not follow procedures that were necessary with taking care of me as well as using me as a pin cushion for a student to learn from. I had gotten a CT scan because I hit my head and had a bad headache for around 3 days. The doctor then said I needed to get a spinal tap to make sure there wasnt any bleeding they might not of caught. Fair enough, they did it and then laid me on my stomach for a half hour when I should have been laid on my back for two hours with my legs propped up with pillows. I then started to get puncture headaches (literally the worst thing ever, worse than a migraine) and fevers. This was about a week after, and I had stayed laying down and drinking caffeine to try to make this headache bearable. I was then taken to VGH and the doctor had asked me Why did you have a lumbar puncture if you had a CT scan and it showed nothing? I said Im not sure. He then proceeded to explain that they should not of done this and the steps they have followed afterwards were probably why I had not healed properly and had puncture headaches, he also told me I was told false information by them. I then had to get a blood patch, and am very sore. Please make sure you know who youre going to when it comes to your health !
