I just want to say, that if you go to a country with a certain strong religious conviction and you put up an editorial there and then draw satires there in their land, making fun of their prophet, then Id say youre asking to be shot to death. However. If you are there in your own land, working for an editorial and you draw a satire of the prophets of another land and another people, that is your right to do that. Religion is not off limits to jokes and cartoons. Racism is; religion is not. Should it be? I dont know. Maybe. Maybe we should all respect everyone elses religions and lack of religions, and I know that I do. Maybe we shouldnt laugh at other peoples gods and prophets; I know I dont. But I dont do any of that; because I am not religious! And I am not atheist, either. I am a mystic, a hermeticist, an esotericist. So, sure, maybe we should stop making fun of other peoples beliefs— period. Stop making fun of other peoples persuasions— period. But not because they would shoot us to death. Shooting people to death over religious, political and conquistador ideologies is not acceptable amongst the human race, anymore. The problem in the world today, seriously, is globalisation without a clear distinction of limitations. We can become globalised, but this does not mean that we can convert people in other lands to become like us through threats and through violence! This is not the 13th century anymore. We are an evolved species by now. Okay, have your religions and ideologies in YOUR OWN lands. And if you migrate, then okay, go to your own church in your own community— but dont expect the nation to acknowledge your personal views as their own. Because that is their land. And if you want it to become your land— it is you who must change; not they.
