I just want to share, things Ive seen (some of you will remember)... SPORTS: Super bowl XVIII, the Thrilla in Manilla, Joe Namath, Larry Bird, and Bobby Orr all play live (I saw Bobby Orr FLYon live tv) I saw Sugar Ray Leonard & Marvelous Marvin Haggler fight in the Olympics, & Jamaican bobsled as it happened, Remember Eddie the Eagle? I saw the MIRACLE ON ICE (live broadcast) I saw Eval Kneivel jump the fountains at Caesars and TRY the Grand Canyon, (I also saw Fonzie Jump the Shark) MUSIC: Robert Plant and Steve Tyler 30 years ago when they were just... WOW, the Clash, The Ramones, the Joe Perry Project (the night Steve Tyler came out on stage to announce Joes return to Aerosmith, Eric Clapton on guitar for Roger Waters, the FIRST Ozfest, Black Sabbath, J Geils Band do 5 (yes 5) encores at Boston Garden, Jimmy Page at Wembly Arena in London, and lets not forget Sammy Hagar (1981) blow ZZ Top off the stage as the opening act on his Red Rocker Tour and oh yea Motley Crue open For Ozzy in 1983 (2nd row center Boston Garden) TV: First Run episodes(in black & White) of the Munsters, Adams Family, I dream of Jeanie, Hogans Heros, Gilligans Island, & the Beverly Hillbillies. also when color was new BATMAN, new episodes of Star Trek, Bonanza, Starsky & Hutch, the six million dollar man, the wide world of sports, the wonderful world of Disney, and the first running of A Charlie Brown Christmas & How the Grinch Stole Christmas Any body remember Tom Jonses variety show? or the first tv appearance of the Eagles? or the first moon landing? ALSO I remember when FM radio was new, also Calculators, (VCRs came much later) and owning a record player, and bell bottoms(the first time) I remember Richard Nixon being elected and when computers were just science fiction to most of us. I turned 53 today just wanted to share.
