I just wanted to say that people may find this funny or amusing, but as a therapist I know how seemingly innocent fun can traumatize a child in a major way -- affecting them until they grow up and pass on. Trauma does not require an intent to harm, it just harms. These parents did not intend to harm the child, and meant for it to be a fun exercise. I get that. I just want to point out how easy it is for all of us to get traumatized in our childhood. No telling what imprinted on that childs mind in that moment ... something like, Im not safe, Things arent the way I think they are, Who knows? We were all traumatized when we were young. If you dont have healthy self esteem, boundaries, ability to release control, have anxiety, depression ... why not get to work on the healing your soul so clearly needs?
