I just wanted to share my fathers words with all of you, in case any of you may find comfort in it, as much as I did, when dealing with individuals that do us wrong. You dont just forgive and forget because its the right thing to do, Denise. You do it to let go of your inner grudges, to live in the present, and look towards your future versus continuously dwelling on your past. Dwelling on your past rarely serves anybody good unless it is to recognize your mistakes and not let history repeat itself. So dont confuse this phrase. Never forget the bad that contributed to your hurt so that you may recognize the pattern in the future because history tends to repeat itself. But you must forgive because its the loving thing to do, and you must forget this indiscretion to remove the burden from your heart because it is not your job to carry their burden or sins.
