I just was told by my husband that a lifelong friend and influence in my life has gone to be with the Lord. Roxanne Cole has been a part of my life ever since I can remember. I have been believing for years that she would receive a total healing and be restored. I am heart broken to hear that her heart could go no longer. I have been married to Michael for over 7 years. I wish that he could fully understand the magnitude of how anointed Roxanne was. Roxanne had a voice that brought down the house. Prior to her long battle with heart conditions, as I was growing up all you needed was a microphone and Roxanne - she was able to create an atmosphere of praise without strain, or struggle. Roxanne was not about a show at all, she was able to flow with the ministry gifts around her - not just my Dad, but countless other preachers and teachers that have visited NCF, over the 30 years I can remember her faithful commitment to the ministry. People have come and gone, but Roxanne was not only faithful she was a blessing. She recognized that she was not entertainment while leading worship, she was just a vessel. With that came a truly amazing voice, I can recall many times getting chills during a normal weekly service. I can recall many times being brought to tears, and of course I cant even count the joy and dancing that would result from her doing the old school praise songs she did so very well. Roxanne was not an imitator of other worship leaders. She had her own unique sound and style - and it was the bomb. When she singing you knew it was her, her voice so big, so full of emotion, energy and a true love for the Lord. Yet it came so very easy to her - it was as she simply opened her mouth and the praise came pouring out. I just finished a long conversation with my mother and father. Im hoping that we can find recordings from the past. Even in her sickness she was still able to bring down the house. I will forever remember her voice, on top of that I will never forget the grace and poise with which she carried herself. Roxanne was so very good at what she did because she cared about what really matters. It wasnt about being sure that everyone was matching - Roxannes solution would be for everyone to simply wear black. She did not care if she was in the center of the stage, or in the choir with a microphone. She didnt like drawing attention to herself. It was all about praising the Lord. I wish I could have said goodbye - I truly believed that Roxanne would overcome this. I find great joy in knowing that she is no longer in pain. Knowing the power of her voice when it was unrestrained- I can only imagine the sound of her praising in heaven. Roxanne will be greatly missed. She will forever be remembered. The character she possessed, and selfless nature did not go unnoticed. She was an amazing leader. As I look back over the years her loyalty and faithfulness to my family will be treasured. In the days ahead Im certain we will be celebrating her life. Im thankful for the years that Roxanne dedicated to serving at NCF, she made a difference in so many lives. We love you Roxanne, you truly were one of a kind. ♡♡♡♡
