I just watched A Clockwork Orange by Stanley Kubrick. 1971. Amazing stuff. Not seen it for years. A Horrible film but a classic. I have always liked Kubrick, he has taste and elegance. The number of 2001 A Space Odyssey references in this film catch my eye, three years between them. it was a strange period. Also watch out for Clockwork Orange references in modern films; they are all over the place. Interesting note, the film was never banned in the Uk, Mr Kubrick had it pulled after some horrible copy cat vlolence. Weird annecdote. I met a member of the directors family, I guessed who she was. But did not want to ask is he your Dad I managed some half wit question She said oh my Dad made a few films was the answer; I managed to save myself and we became friends.
