I just watched a video on a business which serves food. The first thing that that jumped out at me was the black and brown, greasy and hairy ceiling tiles above the food they are trying to promote. The second thing I noticed (likely due to my profession) was the ceiling tiles in this open kitchen restaurant were acoustic. While not everyone may notice the type of ceiling tiles, everyone will notice the grease and grime, and could possibly find another establishment to buy their meal, coffee, snacks, etc at. While acoustic tiles look beautiful when they are clean, they are virtually impossible to clean or remove grease from. Plastic coated sheet-rock tiles would fix this problem at a moderately low cost. They are easy to clean and have a long life. They downsides are 1) they do not have any sound deadening properties, so if cost is not an issue (think frequent replacement) and you need quiet more than clean all the time and 2) sheet- rock tiles are very heavy, so if your t-bar is not properly supported extra work/ costs could be involved. Just a reminder to look up in your business from time to time. You can hire someone to do it for you, or bcceilings/ buy the tiles and do the installation yourself. your customers and your bottom line will thank you.
