I just wish that they have more runs for the childstars in ikaw - TopicsExpress

I just wish that they have more runs for the childstars in ikaw lamang I fear that money and bankability always cloud brilliance when it comes to abs-cbn. Zaijan has this panache that I dont see in other actors - when he opens his mouth and delivers his line as an enlightened young poor boy, it makes you root for him...his bravada went beyond Santino. Xyriel is talented but I think she will be great in a comedic role - her one-liners are really funny to a point where it sent us all in a fit of laughter despite of our major major problem in the house. The young Kim Chiu (sorry I dont know her name), has this aura of innocence and charm and whenever she opens her mouth it actually makes me go awww and lastly the young Jake, took the antagonist role to heart. Brilliant kids and their acting prowess are at par with those of the veteran actors. One more reason to keep your eyes glued on the telly; it is loyal to the period that they portray...from the costume, to cinematography, to even the little details (OC ang cinematographer and director, am sure) read: the coke bottles (gosh), even the texture of the series and the colours...and who can ever forget the musical scoring...the oh-so-haunting rendition of westside storys somewhere, the birds and the bees by Jewel Akens (a song written about star crossed lovers) to the jovial, my girl... My only fear is...what if these kids grow up in the series??? I am confident with Coco and Julia, but what of the one-dimensional Kim Chiu or the talentless Jake Cuenca??? sigh.
