I keep on reading a lot of friends on the Jewish & Israeli sides (stet) lamenting the way in which a new national unity has been established in Israel with so many people who previously saw things in shades of grey moving away from the political seamline, mainly in the national consensus direction. This is accompanied by a lot of hostility towards people to people who do not line up with the consensus. Unfriending and abuse is taking place big time My own experience is a little bit different. I belong to that segment that does not see it as one sided but does not regard it as a simple 50;50 allocation. I regard it more the 70:30 or even 80:20 with the Netanyahu government bearing the most responsibility. But here comes the interesting bit. The most hostility and resentment I encounter doesnt come from the 100 per cent Israel is right crowd. It comes from the smaller group of 50:50 people. Perhaps my view makes them uncomfortable, perhaps theres another reason. I certainly get the feeling that they regard me as blaming the Israeli government 100 per cent for it. Ill see what I could do make it clearer, apart from this statement.
