I kind of liked it, even if the plot had all kinds of hilariously glaring problems. Basically, you have a group of extremely attractive teleporting fashion-Jedi living in an abandoned subway tunnel in a NYC that looks suspiciously like Vancouver most of the time. If they try to kill someone, they have a painful orgasm and pass out. So no going over to the dark side. And theyre being hunted by the guy who played Lucifer on Supernatural (Mark Pellegrino) and is doing the same character--only, a more fatherly FBI-Director-Corporate-Lucifer with a sensitive side. Then we learn that Luke Mitchells character CAN actually kill people. Thats about half-way through season 1. But he still wont kill LuciDad because, well, He was like a father to me back in the day when LD was training him to be a mindless teleporting fashion-Sith killing machine. All of this I could accept, given that I have been conditioned in television doublethink. What I could not accept was the vast disparity in acting ability between Robbie Amell (who plays the attractive-angsty-yet-bacteria-free protagonist) and his cousin, Stephen Amell (the star of Arrow). Amell the Elder can act. His younger cousin, no, or not yet, or hasnt had the chance. But Im sad, too. Everybody should get paid and shows like this tend to pick up in the second season when the writers decide they have to shore up some of the more absurd plot defects. Ive probably already thought about this too much. Of the new episodes coming out this season, Im not so sure any of them are better than the what Ive seen from Agents of SHIELD. I dont know if thats good or bad yet.
